Instead of saying “who am I to…?”

This morning, I woke up feeling nervous because I have a webinar to host tonight and last I checked, 91 businesses had signed up to join in. Maybe to some of you that doesn’t sound like a lot but it’s the most I’ve ever had sign up for a single webinar. I had this moment of self doubt after reading a blog post about the Problogger Conference. I thought, “Wow, who the heck am I to host a webinar on business blogging anyway?” Then the thought occurred to me, “who am I not to?” So, for the next time you find yourself thinking the same thing, here’s something you can print out and stick on your office wall, your kitchen fridge or bathroom mirror.

Are you in the mood?

I wonder what school did to us. The emphasis on grammar and spelling without considering self-expression seems to have produced a lot of people who are so worried about misusing a comma that they don’t write anything at all. This is one of my soapbox pieces. I hate the thought that some of you have so much to offer, but it’s all inside you under lock and key and wearing a “Fail” label. Why should we miss out on what you have to say? More importantly, why should you be gagged just because you might misspell a word?
